Mr. Dave

This is our good friend Dave. He has been one of our summer staff for the past 4 summers, so he has a large place in our hearts! By the end of this summer Gracie thought she was leaving with him, and was very upset when he left. I'm asking you all to pray for him as he just left for Venezuela yesterday. He will be interning with an organization called innerchange(innerchange.org) located in the slum community surrounding Caracas, Venezuela.

He will be in Venezuela for a month then he will decide whether God is leading him to return for 3 years and fully commit to Caracas. We miss Dave quite a bit, but are so blessed to know him.

This Week in Photography

Matt and I listen to a Podcast called TWIP (This week in Photography) We've actually learned quite a bit. Most of it is over our heads, but for any of you who want to know any more about photography it's a great podcast, and a great blog. http://twipphoto.com/

Gracie's 3rd Birthday

Here is Gracie before her family party wearing a new winter hat and mitten set given to her from some friends! She was enjoying a tv show wearing shorts and a winter hat! Too cute!
We've had this shirt for her for at least a year, and it was nice for her to get to wear it to her party! "happy birthday to... ME" is what is says! She loved it!

Gracie in front of her new doll house! My mom got it for her and Matt had the joy of taking it apart outside, and then putting it all back together in the playroom. It was quite the job, but the kids have LOVED playing with it today! It has more furniture than any real house should, but it will be years until she outgrows this toy!!

Gracie and her Cinderella cake!

The Cinderella cake! It took me quite a while to get it all put together. I ended up having to take the doll's legs off to make her fit into the cake! Thanks to my friend Kristi who told me about the leg removal, without that I don't know what the cake would have looked like!

After we took all the decorations off the cake to cut it up, Gracie called it her Blue Pumpkin! I only worked hours to make a Cinderella cake, but she seemed to like the Blue Pumpkin even more! Oh well, she's 3 and Blue Pumpkins must be super cool! :)
We had such a great day celebrating her birthday! Hopefully I'll get more pictures posted soon!
